Why was Anubis so Important to the Egyptians?

the reason Anubis was so important to the Egyptians was because he was the god of the dead. the Epytians worshiped two things the most, number one the gods and number two the dead. Another reason was because he decided their fate in the after life in the underworld.

  6. Well this article is quite correct in my opinion. Because even though Anubis didn't judge the dead, he was the god who weighed the deceased hearts against the Feather of
Truth from the goddess Maat's headdress. If the heart was heavier than the feather, the person of whom it belongs will suffer and his/her heart will be devoured by the she-demon Ammit. If the heart is lighter or the same weight as the feather, the dead person will go on to the afterlife and live in paradise with Osiris.
